Parent Training

Parent training, also known as behavioral parent training (BPT) or parent management training (PMT), is a family of treatment programs designed to change parenting behaviors and teach positive reinforcement methods for improving child behavior problems. With a strong focus on evidence-based practices, parent training has been extensively researched. According to some sources, parent training has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and conduct disorder (CD) in children. Parent training aims to improve overall family well-being and promote healthy child development by providing parents with the skills and knowledge necessary to manage challenging behaviors.
